This way the posts of your company remain visible in Facebook

Recently, the new Facebook algorithm was announced which makes the Facebook posts of companies disappear into the background. Mark Zuckerberg wants to make the platform more personal with posts from friends and family. The updated algorithm will therefore will therefore affect the posts of your company. Fortunately, we have a number of tips that make your posts visible to your followers.

Tip #1. Provide interaction

The messages with ‘meaningful interaction’ are given priority in the algorithm. When a Facebook messages becomes a conversation between the users, the value of the post will rise and become visible. When your followers don’t respond to your post, the value drops and your posts become less visible.

It is therefore wise to provoke interaction with your followers, for example by asking questions or writing about topics that trigger a ‘discussion’.¬†

There is a downside to this point. If you explicitly ask for comments, this ensures ‘no meaningful interactions’ and your post will be less visible again.

Tip #2. Help your customers

You can offer help to your customers by responding to their messages with a question. This way, you also create more interaction. But also through blog posts which you share on Facebook, you can score points with in the algorithm. For example, write a blog about a common problem within your target group, including a solution and share this on your company page.

Tip #3. Place video’s

By placing video’s you can create more interaction on your page. You can also go ‘live’ so that people can ask questions directly about a specific topic that they will receive an immediate answer to. This also creates interaction.

Tip #4. Let your followers follow you

Post an update on the company page stating that the Facebook algorithm is changing. In this post, you can tell that you can still see your messages when the followers go to your company page and choose ‘follow’ and ‘show first’. This way the users can decide for themselves whether they want to see your messages.

Tip #5. Facebook advertising

Of course you can still use Facebook advertising so that you remain visible to your target audience. Paid messages + interaction ensures good visibility. So if you have any budget left over, put this in Facebook advertising!
